Post 20: Explore how to use Bernoff's advice to revise your Doc2

Bernoff post has clarified to me that academic texts do not have to be outlined in a single manner. Since I come from another country and we have different rules for academic writing, I am still adapting to that kind of "life in a America". Next paper I will try to move away to the boring 3-paragraph style. It works, but sometimes you cannot limit yourself to supporting your ideas on just a few blocks.

Post 19: explain your biggest problem with revising your documents

I do not usually have any kind of problems when revising my documents and papers. As a matter of fact, usually I can have a better understanding on some parts that I have struggled when writing them and can even add some new ideas. Revisiting your paper is vital to its success. Sometimes your ideas are in a narrow place that you can not move away from. If you take a few hours to rest and clear your head, you might have a better approach when revising or resuming your work.

Post 18 Explain how the professional blog that you follow does or does not fit the blog genre

The Zero Net blog brings different kinds of information, so in that way it communicates to many different types of audience. You can find lots of information about Cybersecurity, since it is a field that is always changing.

Post 17: Explain blogging as a genre of writing. Describe the features of this genre using Dirk's article

In Kerry Dirk’s essay, “Navigating Genres”, the author uses several categories of genres (and her own essay) to provide examples to her readers about how genres can be understood and why they are so important. He uses collegiate words to maintain an air of intellectual superiority. In doing so Dirk provides more than just textbook examples on the genre. She provides the readers with insight into how she as a writer drew from other pieces of literature in the same genre to create the essay she wrote to us.

Post 16: Outline the arrangement in a post from the professional blog you are following and assess the arrangement

The posts in ZeroDay Net are centered in the page and related posts are on the right and also at the bottom of the page. The posts are very concise and direct. They assess the topic at hand or some news related to cybersecurity around the globe. I really like the way it is shown to the readers.

Post 15: Explain your strategies for writing quickly and orderly and discuss how effective your strategies are

As long as I have an objective or purpose in mind, I don't have any issues to express what I want as long as I have a clear understanding of the topic being discussed, by supporting my ideas with strong arguments. Once you have set your focus it is easier to develop your ideas on paper in a more natural way. Sometimes, reading something on the chosen topic will improve your arguments and give you a solid foundation to support your text.

Post 14: Argue for a sensible approach to discussing public issues, using quotes from online sources

When you address public issues, it is usually best to try to be as less biased as possible. It is hard to separate our opinion, specially on sensitive topics. But trying to put an issue to be discussed between different people, many ideas will come to the table.

Post 13: explain why it has become so difficult to have a civil, courteous, and productive discussions of important issues in the United States.

I have been in the United States since early 2020. As the global pandemic started just after I got here, I didn't have as many chances as I would like to socialize and get to know other people. But I can tell why having discussions in Brazil has become difficult. People usually do not read or educate themselves on the topics they want to discuss. Besides that, lately people are extremely sensitive. You cannot disagree or have a different opinion. Certain topics seem to have like a hive mind behind it, where everyone needs to think alike. Exchange of ideas and different opinions lead to a good discussion and help all parties involved to expand their knowledge of different topics.
